Learning Disability Week 2026: Reflecting on a Week of Recognition, Inclusion and Opportunity

As Learning Disability Week draws to a close, we have been reflecting on this year’s powerful theme: “Do You See Me?”

Throughout the week, we have celebrated the achievements, talents, interests and individuality of the people we support. The campaign has encouraged people across the country to look beyond labels and recognise individuals for who they are, rather than focusing on their disabilities or support needs.

At Partners4Care, this message is at the heart of the support we provide every day.

We are privileged to support people with learning disabilities to live independently, pursue their goals, develop new skills and engage with their local communities. Throughout the week, we have shared stories that highlight the achievements of the people we support, and we have been proud to be a part of their journeys.

The theme “Do You See Me?” reminds us that everyone deserves to be seen, heard and valued. It challenges us to move beyond assumptions and take the time to understand the unique personalities, aspirations and strengths that make each person unique and who they are.

While Learning Disability Week may be coming to an end, the message behind it remains just as important. Creating inclusive communities is not something that happens for one week each year; it is an ongoing commitment. By promoting understanding, challenging misconceptions and championing opportunities for people with learning disabilities, we can help build a society where everyone feels included, loved and respected.

To mark the end of Learning Disability Week, members of our team and residents from our supported living services will be taking part in a sponsored walk tomorrow to raise money and awareness for Mencap and the vital work they do for people with learning disabilities.

We are delighted by the support we have already received and would like to thank everyone who has donated so far. Every contribution helps raise awareness and supports efforts to create a more inclusive society for people with learning disabilities.

If you would like to support our sponsored walk, donations can be made here.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to supporting the people in our services to achieve their goals, embrace new opportunities and live fulfilling lives.

Thank you for joining us in celebrating Learning Disability Week 2026 and helping to ensure that people with learning disabilities are seen, heard and valued—not just this week, but every day.
